I am vinod vv, I love chennai city, becoz I grew up here. Most I talk about traffic, it is becoz of the reason, that I travel around 45KMS a day inside the city, and when things turn abnormal, I turn towards this blog. Any ways good to see the chennai traffic police observing my blogs and implementing certain changes, (If you ask for a fact, frankly speaking I don’t have). After I write certain things seems to change and correction is made. Nothing else more.

There is no doubt that chennai share auto’s best role in ferrying chennai passenger. But they are very rude, non passenger friendly, over loading, having their own road rules, obstructing peoples movment to board town buses by moving their autos near busstands. Is there any body to regulate this?

Does anybody care about the NOISE POLLUTION in Chennai?!?! Loud music seems to be part of any and every festivity in the city. So what if it gives you a headache and you have to constantly reach out to that bottle of painkillers…so what if I get a soar throat just because I want to be heard in a conversation…so what if the loud noise makes me nauseaous…DON’T DISTURB US …WE ARE CELEBRATING!!!
Is there anything a resident of Chennai can do? Is there a hotline we can call or for that matter is there any law or rule that we can fall back on to make life more livable?

PANCHAYAT PRESIDENTS.
During Panchayat elections, many women personalities were contested and elected. However, are they really attending to their offices? For Example, Mrs. Chandra Hariharan was duly elected for Madipakkam Panchayat Election whereas from the day one, her husband Mr. Hariharan is sitting in the Panchayat President Chair.
Is there any Govt Notification that husband can attend the Govt duties in place of his wife?
Who is the right authority to control such practices? Is it common for only Political person or for all Govt office goers. -
Hello,
I just found your blog as I was looking for information about Chennai. I live in the US but I am a South African Indian.
My husband is coming on business to Chenai around the 21st Feb. I will be coming along as well, mainly to do shopping and sight see.Since you have always lived in Chennai do you have any suggestions on where one can get good products at reasonable prices as well as some sites we should see.
Thanks.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks.

Bad and worst place. No rules in traffic. i dint see no parking board any where. people park their vehicles wherever they want even in main roads. which creates traffic jam many times. Also another worst thing is people over taking from left hitting and then scolding the one who is in right side. city is very dirty. never seen any corporation workers cleaning the city. no proper foot path. if there it’l turn as toilet. What this politicians are doing? is it metro city? so badly maintained and worst place to live
