How to find elections nearby

You must be hearing people screaming over the microphone on most parts of the Chennai city, the Chennai corporation is helping people to get patta, water connection, complain about street light not working etc etc.

Now chennai corporation is making life simple for all Chennai people.

And I thought all the above should be happening at ease, with out even the above Chennai corporation pamphlet distribution at every corner of the street.

So why this distribution of pamphlets all of sudden and that too in the 5th year. Is there any elections coming around

Request for Chennai Corporation

Place:  Near Annanagar Railway station a bridge with lots of mobile Fish stalls

This road is a connection between Villivakkam and Annanagar, and believe me this road is already narrow and crowded and on top of this new mobile fish stalls just started has created hell a lot of problems for commuters.

Kindly note: I am not against the fishermen nor the traders and nor the public. I would love to have a fish stall  out there close by which doesn’t bother the traffic.

Morning time is the peak and school goers are the major sufferers.  Traffic gets the ultimate beat.

Here is the request with the solution for the Chennai corporation. Can the mobile fish stall be moved little away from the bridge to the end of the bridge there is a vacant place towards Annanagar where very few people use that road as it stinks because of the cooum river.

Does Chennai traffic police have to bear with this

I was reading to “The Hindu” this morning, and saw this article. I have been in the same place trying to cross the road to reach central sub urban railways station. The cops have no control over the crowd. Yeah, I did see the subway, as Ms. Selvi stated it was in a pathetic shape.

My question is does chennai traffic police has to hear all this, just because they are doing good.

They are trying to save our lives.

This is what chennai peoples mentality. Even if some one is helping you, you start pointing fingers.

Well if Chennai traffic police had the rules in the first place, they need not have to hear the words, which people state.

I had stated once at chennai.metblogs too.

Just an Update: I took the other subway which is messier and with lot of hawkers. The one close to the park town station is cleaner safer and  hawkers  free.

Wondering when would Chennai traffic police would take the same step of encouraging people to use safe subway at saidapet bus terminus. Wish that could come true.

Most Dangerous electric pole, Ever seen

This pole is made out of Iron, already rusted and ample wires pulling towards the road. I found this one at the Velachery near the vijay nagar bus stand.

Only the electricians can say whether they are dangerous or not. Wondering what would be situation if it rains and some one comes in contact with the pole.

This guy was the phone, and was on the extreme right side of the road. How do you expect one to overtake?

All Purpose Utility Vechile

I have seen lot of funny rides, this one is awesome. Could carry luggage and instead of small baby, You could see a grown up babe right at the front. I guess more or less a comfortable talk and ride…

I found two pairs on two bikes on the chennai 200 feet road near Ashok pillar, but was able to take these shots as my Nokia N-series N70 mobile camera was slow and couldn’t make multiple clicks

Lamp post Hiding signal

If you are coming from Koyambedu approaching towards Vadapalani Signal, you will be passing through this signal, The worst part of the signal is that vehicles which are right at the front just before the white line will not be able to see the signal as the lamp post is hiding them, vehicles approaching from far away have trouble sighting the signal changing to red when they are close to the white line, you may say that there is one right at the top. Yes that one is for vehicles coming little far away.

One more thing which I wanted to mention is that, the same signal has one more disadvantage. The people who are on the left/right of the same signal need to wait more than 7 mins as compared to the main stream. Most of them cross when the main stream signal is still Green as there are few vehicles passing by. Few times I have encountered my self in trouble with jaywalkers and vehicles even my signal is in green.

Chennai Driving license Arena

3 yrs before I took my 4 wheeler driving license and I made recent visit at Avadi main Road Chennai traffic license Authority Office for getting a new 4 wheeler driving license for my Wife. I was quiet thriller looking the facilities. Testing arena seems to good, no need to distrub the public nor any risk for conducting test.

But there is one annoying thing, Which I felt I should address, I don’t work on Saturdays, The license Authority works on Saturday, but doesn’t issue license for the public, but only to the Government Employees. Do government Employees have some thing extra.

Why public can’t get their license on saturday?
